968 front pads

It sounds like you have the anti squeal shims in there. These are simply a spring that slips inside the hollow piston attached to a sticky pad which sticks to the back of the brake pad. It is supposed to stop the pad moving around and squealing. I never use them as they are £2 each and you need 4 per calliper every time you change pads.
You should be able to prise them off the back of the brake pad with an old knife. Once the pad is out of the way then you can prise the spring out of the piston
