The Maxi Cosi cabriofix is suggested as a good fit in GT3s, if you have rear belts (professionally) fitted, for infants. You need the front seat a long way forward, and obviously there are no seat backs or bases in a GT to use up precious space, but it's definitely possible.
The advice on this forum and 911UK was simply to go somewhere you can try lots of seats to find one that is a secure, snug fit. Total 911 mag also did a test a couple of months ago, so worth ordering that back issue.

Maxi Cosi Young Sport will fit with some mods, likewise a lightweight one I have.
The Maxi Cosi is blow moulded plastic. Remove rear seat base and covering from the Maxi. Place old towel in rear seat area. Use heat gun, eg wall paper stripper to soften the corner of the Maxi Cosi where it interferes with the car/rear seat. When its gone floppy pop it in situ and let it mould itself to fit and cool off. The result was probably a one inch change at the corner of the Maxi. Job done, dont be scared it shouldnt weaken the Maxi which now sits straight ahead! Ah also I removed the inclining base thing from the Maxi Cosi as well.

Nice work on the mod! I have a maxi cosi Priori SPS - I took out the rear back rest of the seat on the weekend and it gives much better room and fit - I still have the little ones old blankets stuffed below the seat and around the sides to wedge the seat in place. But your mod sounds very good, much better to get it properly wedged into the shape of the bucket and to get it facing straight ahead.

Just for info for anyone looking to get a child seat in the back of a Porsche 911 996......
Been through this struggle myself so thought id share. My son is now 3 and my daughter 9 months.
Recaro young sport defiantly doesn't fit in the back of a 996! I had this from my previous car but luckily we had a Kiddicare traffic as our travel seat, that fitted great so my toddler has been in that since he was 2.
My 9 month is too small for the kiddicare despite it being sold as a 9month +. Shes big for her age and fits the recaro perfectly. So in a desperate attempt I went to Halfrauds.... Came up trumps, tried all the big brands and nothing fitted well. Until I saw there Halfords Essentials 123, from 9 months plus. It was only £35 so I was dubious but I sat her in the seat and she looked perfect, the seat is well padded and feels much more stirdy than the kiddicare. both seats to European standards etc etc. Best news is it slides into the back perfectly, as if its made to measure!!! Dead chuffed and shes loving the new perspective. It even reclines which is handy as we are off to the Eifel Mountains in a few weeks so want the kids to be comfy in the back for the long drive.
Incidentally when she was born she was in the Mamas & Papas Cybex baby seat. Again that fitted in the back no problems at all.
