Interchangeable Parts - 944/924

Hi All, my 88 944 lux, although in very good condition, requires a few bits & bobs and I have a chip in the windscreen as well, a friend of mine knows of a 924 that has been left standing for a few years now and he thinks it could be for sale (cheap), would it be worth pursuing for parts, will windscreen fit etc????

Earlier 944's and 924's have some interchangeable parts but after 1986 the 944 got modernised in some key areas. One of those areas was the windscreen which became bonded rather than the older method, meaning you'r screen and that of the earlier 924's shouldnt be interchangeable.
