The PSM & ABS warning lights come on when I give it (996 c4 tips) some real stick. If I stop and restart they go off and stay off until I press the go peddle with “ a bit of urgency”. Has anyone got any ideas why the warning lights are coming on ? Has anyone had the same problem ? The car has been serviced & brakes (fluid, sensors, pads) changed. At the service no faults came up on the data gismo.

Suggestions please (slow steady driving is not an option).

seriously though should flash when traction is broken and stop when you get grip again. is it on all the time?

They stay on until I stop the engine and when I restart they stay off until I "hoon".

That isn't right. Get it sorted. On my previous Boxster it turned out to be a problem with the loom.

The light should come on temporarily whilst it is working and go out the moment grip has returned...

I can't remember which light it was, but my C4 had an air mass sensor go, and the symptom was very similar.

The air mass sensor is a simple plug in device in the induction airflow --- which costs around £200 !

I suggest you take it along to a dealer or specialist and tell them the exact problem. Mere servicing just involves them changing oil and filters, checking over the car then plugging in their diagnostic box. If the PSM has reset itself after being switched off, then their box probably won't detect it

Hopefully they will have done a road test but probably not given it 'some stick' like you did so they have no chance of spotting it. You did mention you had new brakes at the service, sounds like they may have knocked a sensor.
