993 C2 For Keeps
Discussion
I have owned a lovely C2 for seven years now and enjoyed 20,000 miles over that period. But I have been thinking about what next to do with the car. It has done 94,000 miles and is regularly serviced. The mechanics are excellent and I read with interest a recent PH comment that sometimes it is much better to keep the car you know and trust rather than risk even a lower mileage exchange - as you never know how that car has been treated. So today I took the decision that I am keeping it and went to see a highly recommended local body repairer and sprayer (it has all the unsual scrapes, dents, stone chips on its nose and rear wheel arches, bubbles around the windscreen) and they will strip down the bad body parts and do a full respray, replace all the rubbers and seals, new windscreen, replace all the lenses (they are looking dull now) for what I thought was a good price. I will then seek new wheels (the old ones have been realloyed once but I do not think they will survive another and I fancy those red porsche inserts) and then will look for larger red brake calipers and new front shocks. I feel good about this, the car deserves it, the kids will be thrilled that not only old faithful is not being sold but will actualy enjoy a well deserved clean up and remain in the family for years to come. Thought you might want to know!!
