Every time I look at the classifieds ( quite often ) there seems to be another GT2 added ?
Just a sign of the times ?

Sign of owners not being able to drive them in the winter months..... LOL and deciding to get rid...

They're trying to tempt you Will. Good luck with the hunt for a good one. My new Turbo is safe and sound up here now.

Haha, you'e right there. Bit of a blind spot for the BiB !
Reckon the GT2 route is a pipedream TBH. Still lust after one, so if the Lottery numbers come up , then yes would go for it.

Believe it or not, I am happy as a pig in scensoredt with my wee Caterham at the moment. Pennies to run in comparison to previous cars. Only bad thing is you get wet now and again , and best not to hit anything hard, as you WILL come off worse !

But when I compare it to your Porsche's, kind of makes me glad I went the Caterfield route when I look at what I need to spend on a service. Last one cost me about £50 and 30 mins of my time. Insurance is pretty good too, even with 3 well earned points !!! laugh

True, mines just back from service and MOT, haven't paid yet but I'm hopeful for 3K frown

Drove my brothers R500, was immense fun, would have one if I'd the space (and wasn't bankrupt through Porsche ownership)

What!!!!
there's 19 for sale on here and the majority of those have been on for a while maybe due to been poor examples.
I would say thats very low given the climate etc or have the owners realised that they maybe sitting on a little nest egg.
The 996 version is the last raw GT2 and forget OP i would say the numbers for sale is low because of this. Great investments

Anybody selling them must be mad.
The last proper supercar with out all the driver aids to leave stuttgart.
As the last poster has said there are only 19 for sale so don't understand the OP to me the wise men are keeping these beasts under lock and key & fair play to them........

There are 13 in the classifieds and are mostly dealers, bar a couple of private ads. In some cases I'd expect they need to sell the car to get their capital back. Possibly some SOR in there too.

Sure, it represents about 10% of the UK cars, but I haven't seen any drastic change in numbers for sale.

I have one and am considering selling it afte two years, but I must say I've sold two previous and always regret selling. They are an amazing machine, it's also the first time I've owned one where it is not loosing money if anything gaining. Good times!

Now is nothing special - there are usually GT2s for sale. Simply put - there are more than enough cars to accommodate all of the people who want to buy them. This is also why they are at comparatively bargain prices - not a new situation and no indication of it changing either. Remember kids - just because it is rare and good doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to be desirable to people who might actually buy one...

Interestingly there are practically zero 997 GT2s for sale on PH. There is one but that may not appeal to most.
Is the 997 variant more desirable or just a reflection of less of them being sold in the first place?

To be honest it is true though, they have no driver aids on them whatsover other than power steering so very raw!
Whether thats a good thing is debatable though.

2.5 Boxters?
Ok..............
