How long do your steel disk brakes last?

How much time/mileage do you get out of your Porsche brake disks assuming no track day use?
Does 20K miles, two and a half years seem about right?
Bit of a loaded question TBH. It really does depend on how you use them or not if you dont drive the car often.Does 20K miles, two and a half years seem about right?
The common problem is corrosion long before they actually wear out, closely followed by warping.
My first set corroded with plenty of disc remaining and I manage about 10k pa.

From new my 02 Boxster's pads lasted around 50K miles and the discs nearly twice that.Does 20K miles, two and a half years seem about right?
The next couple of sets of pads/rotors didn't last quite that long, but his last set appears like it will deliver some exceptional life.
My 03 Turbo's original brakes are up to over 78K miles and the pads/rotors still have life. The brake wear worning light is not on and I drive my cars until that comes on before I'll do the brakes.
With no track time I can't imagine how one could only get 20K miles of brake life.
Sincerely,
Rockster.

Obviously it depends on usage...Does 20K miles, two and a half years seem about right?
My 2009 C4S daily driver has covered around 26k on the original discs and pads, with plenty of life left in them yet.
My C2S has done 52k on original disks/pads with two track days, fronts are now down below 20% so will need replacing soon rears still 50%. You have to be religous with driving the car after washing too clean disks as they will rust otherwise and car has always been garaged. Its only right angled corners you need to brake for anyway!! just keep on the power otherwise, improves the handling no end

pedant;on/ Grey modular cast iron /pedant;off
Iron in an element - I'm guessing brakes are an alloy including iron, making them steel.
Steel is an alloy of iron with carbon < 2% (typically < 1% for most grades) + varying amounts of other elements. Cast iron is an alloy of steel with carbon > 2% (typically > 2.5%)
Brake discs are normally grey cast iron - typically 3.5% C. Precise composition and microstructure (distribution and form of graphite in iron matrix)will determine properties, i.e. wear resistance, heat absorption capacity etc ..........
