And got a Passat as a loan car. I find that pretty amazing given the premiums paid for the car.

Think I've seen enough of main dealers for the foreseeable future.

hehe

I've never had anything less than a 911 with a couple of thousand miles on the clock from Leicester OPC.

Did you ring ahead, Nigel? I was using Reading, but made sure I only got what I was after. Tried all sorts:

Cayman PDK
Cayman S
Cayman PDK
Boxster S PDK
C2S Cabriolet
Cayenne diesel
C4S PDK
Loaner 959 (not really)

It was the only upside of the OPC for me, so I'm sorry to hear you didn't even get that!

Yep - it's a shame West London are down the road from work. Won't be using them again in future.

Apparently it's policy now they're owned by VW... All the nice stuff going. Or so I was told. I was 5 minutes early and they wouldn't let me in the door 'til 8am. Not impressed.

I'm amazed people are surprised by this.

An OPC probably services 20-30 cars a day, do you really expect them to have 20-30 Porsches just sat there for customers to drive as courtesy cars.

who cares - if they do a good job on my car - I am happy to drive round in a shed!

After all - it is FREE!

Is it really free? Or is it all in the price?

Must be new policy.

I've only ever had Porsches from West London as courtesy cars. Had various Boxsters, Caymans, etc and also had a Cayenne GTS and a 997TT for 48hr test drives.

Actually I think those that detract from my original moan are quite right - the car is fine. It's clean, new, and everything works. I was just expecting something a bit more exciting given previous experiences there.

Hey ho.

Why are people still using these idiots at Chiswick? No one ever has anything good to say about them, including me, yet people are still surprised when they get cr4ppy service from them...

I was slightly miffed when I dropped my GT3 off and got a boxster pdk for the weekend! Still that miserable gearbox had a lot to do with it.

I used Reading the last three visits and always had a Cayman or Boxster from them. I worked on the understanding that if you give them reasonable notice when booking the car in, they would make sure that you got a Porsche loaner.

The other thing that Reading offers, is book it in and arrange with the Sales team to try a demonstrator for the day. I am sure most OPC`s would offer the same or similar service.

When I get courtesy cars I either want something equal-ish to what I own (had a Boxster S when on a service), something I've not tried before (had a new Merc C-class when the car broke down), or something so incredibly pitiful that I can rag the arse off it without caring (asked specifically for a C1 despite being 'entitled' to a premium car).

Most fun out of those three as a loaner? The C1. The missus used to run an Aygo so I knew how jolly the C1 would be, and I loved every second with it.

I think it's a bit harsh to criticise someone for expecting a certain kind of loan car, but neither is it the end of the world if you end up in something lower down the scale.

I had a pdk boxster when my C4S was in for service at Tonbridge and loved it! I thought the box suited the car very well. Each to their own i guess...
