theres an annoying rattle coming from the nearside rear of my cayman (heard best inside the cabin, worse on uneven surfaces/bumps). its been there ever since I collected it but i thought it was something loose that I'd be able to find/identify. Its like that bloody VW advert with the girl with the squeaky earring except I don't wear them jester . I can't find anything loose anywhere in the back and theres actually sod all back there that is accessible anyway. Doesn't seem to be coming from the engine bay but hard to tell from the front. its driving me nuts. any suggestions?

Think this is a common problem and something they'll sort gratis. Think its something in the back of the cabin though.

It's probably the tailgate, had issues with mine ... in an out of OPC ... fixed it myself.

There is an "anti rattle kit" you can ask your Porsche dealer to fit - just had one fitted to mine. Made it better but not 100%

Over on Planet-9 someone reported that fitting the kit and lowering the boot catch a little fixed it fully

wind out the bump stops on your rear hatch a couple of turns as the cold weather shrinks them.

I hate it when it shrinks in the cold weather.

Agreed, wind out the stoppers on the hatch, mine rattles a bit now and again. Adjust those and it's sorted. I sometimes hear a noise from the air box area, tends to be when the car is cold though.

this is why PH is such a great site. A simple thing that was spoiling my driving pleasure, sorted. Thank you

just been for a lovely hoon along my favourite back road twisties. Only two squeaks on the whole trip, and one was from me when the traction control warning light thingie came on biggrin

thats very interesting. i noticed this weekend that some of the trim/seal around the third brake light has come loose and is hanging down over the light cluster. coldnt see any easy way of accessing the light cluster - would this be covered under warranty?

They're the rubber stops at each bottom corner of the tailgate on the Cayman.

my car wasn't under warranty so dealt with it myself, no damage to mine so just used a little foam to damp vibrations

you access it by removing the metal boot loop thing, then the boot liner comes off and you get to the light

I verified it by equipping the passeenger with a stick to prod around until we could make it stop/start while driving tongue out

Sorry Rob, thickie question but do you mean the boot catch in the lid section or the receptacle in the body of the car? Man from OPC said I "couldnt really adjust the boot catch" but I am willing to give it a go. Winding down the stops has 90% sorted, but I had to wind them so far that they are loose, anotehr quarter turn and they fall out

I know I am probably over cautious. I can see how to remove the covers from each side (for the rear lights) but I cannot see how to release the cover from the hatch lock area. The two areas about 3 inches wide do not seem to have anywhere that I could get a screwdriver under to gt to any bolts/catches underneath.
