If anyone has this option in his 996 can you please post a picture/describe of what these lights look like and where they are ? The couldnt even tell me at Porsche if they can be retrofitted in a 996 - its the only option my car doesnt have and as this 996 is turning into a garage queen i very much like to install them ... cheers

Retro-fitting footwell lights on a 996!! Are you serious? What made you think of this, I'm just curious? My 996 interior lights up like a Christmas tree anyway. I can't think what these additional lights would add to the party.

Very serious despite the uselessness of such an option

I quite fancy the footwell switch and more light in the car as it dont feel light enough for me . I am still confused though as to if this option includes additional lights- some people tell me it does some people dont , rather confusing as someone said there are standard in the 996 turbo but i didnt see any additional lights nor this option installed ina couple of recent 996 turbos i have seen.. still a mystery therefore.............

A friend of mine made a massive improvement to the interior light on his BMW by swapping the standard bulbs for LED ones - I would expect doing the same to your 996 will make a bigger difference than what you're proposing, plus it's only a couple of quid and dead easy to do.

Yes there are two additional ligts. There is a good DIY I found a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't a standard option.
