Phone Module in Cayman S

Hi there, I'm new to Cayman ownership, just picked up my 2008 Cayman S last week.

It is an amazing car, I am really pleased with it, however I have one problem I hope someone can help me with.

When the phone module works, it works really well. I can hear the person I'm calling, and they can hear me.

The problem is that I hardly ever get reception. It is always searching for the network. Every now and again I will get reception, it will last for a few minutes and then go again.

Does anyone know of a fix for this, or is it simply a call to the dealer under OPC Warranty?

Don't have the phone module enabled in mine, but that doesn't sound right. PCM unit is covered by the Porsche warranty, so probably best take it along to your OPC.

i suppose the question would be whether you would get reception using the same SIM in a mobile phone? Next time it hits an area of poor reception take out the SIM and put it in your phone. if you get a good signal then its the PCM phone module thats faulty. If you still get lousy reception then its your network thats offering poor coverage.

It is the sim from my mobile which doesn't even work in the middle of Cardiff, so it isn't a network problem, must be the car.

I will book it into local OPC as soon as I can.
