1999 Boxster query

[RESSE]

When we start my wife's 1999 Boxster (2.5 tiptronic/57,000 miles) there is a beeping sound from the passenger footwell.

The beeps (can be 5, 6 or 7 time) are very loud and I cannot fathom what they indicate.

Any ideas?
