993 Battery Problems
Discussion
Went to take Helga my 993 out of the garage today and battery completely dead - not even a flicker from it. Its absolutely new Bosch Silver S4 fitted 2 months ago after the previous Bosch Silver S4 died in less than one year. Never had this problem before, not least as the car is always hooked up to an Airflow Battery Conditioner.
I had the car checked out by Peter Tognola and they removed an old Tracker which they said was notorious was draining batteries but found no other great draw on it.
The car is garaged and covered and although the temp has dropped over night I can't imagine that it has been enough to destroy the charge. The only other thing is that I have a Toad Alarm fitted but I have had that for some time.
Anyone got any good ideas?
Thanks

Did they give you any figures on what the drain is?I had the car checked out by Peter Tognola and they removed an old Tracker which they said was notorious was draining batteries but found no other great draw on it.

Did they test for drains with the alarm armed, just because the alarm has been fitted for a number of years doesn't mean it has not developed a fault. How long has the car been left unused?

They didn't, but do recall that Peter said there was no signifiant drain anywhere that he could find. The alarm is about 4 years old now.Did they test for drains with the alarm armed, just because the alarm has been fitted for a number of years doesn't mean it has not developed a fault. ...there are a few things on the 993 that will drain the battery....old tracker being one of them and old alarms. Also the light under the front hood is also notorious and also the electric windows....this problem has come up a few times on the 993 forum on 911uk I suggest you ask there or do a search there.....here is the link.
