OK, no problem here. If it is not on MID then IT IS NOT INSURED. Stay away and be very, very afraid...................

What nobs though, a nice car and no insurance. As Jeremy would no doubt say, 'shoot them, shoot them in front of their families'
Other forms of punishment are available..............
There's nothing like a bit presumption and wild speculation is there? Other forms of punishment are available..............

You'll find that half the cars I might be seen driving are not on the MID but that doesn't mean they're not insured - in my case through a trade policy and I'm only required to report taxed vehicles that have been in the company's possession a certain length of time, after which the broker has to then upload the emailed list to the MID - this can run into a number of weeks.
On an individual basis though anyone with a Chubb policy could drive a car that has no insurance policy on it specifically yet still be covered fully comprehensively.

Yeap, it's very possible for a car to be insured and not to appear on the MID. I'm assuming that the check done ^ was the free one on ASKMID? Remember that this facility is intended for use only by the owner/broker/employee to check their own vehicles.

It happens quite often. Usually the fault of the insurance company and not the broker. Worth checking as it can cause a 2 hour delay at the roadside proving to traffic police that you really are insured. My niece has put a private plate on her BMW two months ago. New reg still not on the MID.
