Cameron would be a good place to pop into as they have a good selection of 993's up there across all mileages so you can see what a GOOD one is like compared to one that is reasonable. There is a lot of difference between specs on 993's which is not that obvious in photos's or descriptions until you get up close to the cars. They also have some nice customer cars there as well which they store ie ultra low miles 993 turbo for a reference point.

Really nice guys to deal with as well. If it were me, i'd be going for a car that has a good history and has had a load of money thrown at it as there are some out there that have patchy history or need work and to get them upto standard usually costs more than buying a good one in the first place!

That £26k one at Portiacraft is superb value if it checks out OK.

The Portiacraft one is advertised as being "CERTAINLY NOT MINT" which may put people off - unless they go into more detail.

The Cameron one was for sale privately prior to this, at a lot less if I remember. This may stick in some peoples throat that a dealer is making so much from the sale of this ( not taking into consideration any work that was required ).
The mileage is getting up to that area where people start to worry and the interior is not to eveyones taste. Other than that the history looks to be very good.

The one at Millbrook would maybe sell if they mentioned the engine work had been done - or not. Anyone that has read the review would be sure to ask anyway.

The way an ad is written will either draw people in or drive them away. Some people (me included) won't bother to call a dealer if they think the car is possibly hiding something.

Portiacraft don't really deserve to be contacted if they can't be bothered to take a photograph in focus. AND PEOPLE DON'T LIKE BEING SHOUTED AT.

It may not be the cheapest, but they really know how to prepare a car properly

Haven`t viewed them by my thoughts on the above are
Portiacraft £26k - looks good view if all checks out
Cameron £36k - I know miles aren`t everything but it would seem Way over priced given the miles.
Millbrook Turbo £32k - Car needs at least a top end done soon so just make sure you have £10-£15k tucked aside if you go for this one.

All of the above have been around for a while. The last 2 have been kicking around for c3-6 months so that could tell you everything.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appriciated and very constructive, cheers.

As for the other recommendations;
The C4 at Sterlings looks great but alas it's a C4... I like the wide acensorede look!

The C4S at Gmund also looks great but I prefer them without the turbo spoiler, looks like it's pretending to be something it's not! Plus I've gone off black cars as had so many in the past, bugger to keep clean.

This is all down to personal taste sorry.

The car will be used as a daily driver and will be replacing my current 997 C4S.
I like the added grip and confidence the 4wd gives you even if it is psychological...
It also has to be a varioram car, hence the preference towards the C4S.

Turbo964,
Why do you say the Millbrook turbo will need a top end rebuild?
Is this just down to the mileage...

Jack Frost 993 and 993kimbo,
I don't know why Portiacraft word some of their ads the way they do, would definitely put off some prospective buyers.

Maybe they're the Easyjet of Porsche dealers.

Everyone wants something for nothing these days so maybe they do well offering cars on the cheap.

Hi George,

I'm selling my 993 C4. It's in the classifieds. I'd be willing to come to Cardiff if you are interested.

You are right to scratch the air cooled itch. They are great smile

It was featured in a Porsche mag and in the write it it said "Will need top end rebuild soon". Believe that was based on condition of engine and not just the mileage.

I looks likes its sold now so hope the new owner got it inspected and purchased with eyes wide open.

Batmanreturns, nope not me I'm afraid and I'd just got my head round the high miles so guess I missed a bargain...

Doom Bar, sorry but I have a 997 C4S to part ex and I'm really looking at a turbo or C4S, your car looks nice though and pretty good value IMO, good luck selling.

Turbo964, thanks for the info.

This one at 911 Virgin will be in great condition - almost the same price as the Portiacraft one too.

That looks nice. I sold an almost identical one 2 years ago with 83k on for £30k and could have sold it a few times over. I had a new clutch, brakes and tappets fitted (and whatever else was required when I got it inspected) and it had previously had all the suspension replaced by Porsche and new SO-2's. Even if this one isn't quite as fresh in all those areas it does still look like a good deal and it's a great colour for it (Boxster launch colour, so a late colour for a 993).
