996 turbo transmission thud

suddenly got a small thud like sound when moving off. need to move off with a bit of gentle acceleration to get it. At first sounded like coming from the back then from under middle of car. Feels like the whole tranny or engine moving a bit. anyone had similar experience ?

Hi,

Check the rear transmission mounting as they can split and tear apart. Other than that visual inspection it will need to go into a garage for further checks.

brakes sticking on? mine does this quite regularly, esp if I've washed it the day before with out then taking it for a drive.
