Can you help?

The siren on my 993's PA1000 keeps blaring (seemingly randomly). Everything else on the car operates as normal, except for the blaring noise! The fob locks and unlocks the doors, the LED lights illuminate, the engine starts and the car can be driven. All while the siren is blaring. The indicators don't flash while the siren is blaring (though they flash as normal when the fob is used for locking & unlocking). It is as if the car has no idea that the siren is blaring. The siren does not respond to the fob or to the alarm key being inserted into the engine bay & turned. The siren starts and stops randomly.

H&P are stumped as is my porsche specialist. The current thinking is that the siren itself may be faulty and should be changed, or the wire loom needs to be replaced.

Anyone got any ideas - help greatly appreciated. (and my neighbours will thank you as well)

I had this problem, driven nearly mad with the possibility it might go off again at two in the morning etc. Eventually disconnected siren unit and disposed of it. Peace at last.

My old one had a similar problem, got a local auto electrician to replace the siren with an aftermarket one (it was years ago and not current car so don't remember make) and it worked a treat smile

Thanks for the responses. Let's hope replacing the siren unit does the trick. I'll post an update with results.
