Would not bother me, And never been asked by a dealer about how many owners when negotiating a part-ex.
My view is these car are often bought on a whim and then sold as its not there thing.

Seems a lot to me but the last few years have seen cars move around a lot due to the economy.
PPI will tell you if it's a good one!

So is that 6 in total? I'm the second owner of mine and my car is the same year/reg'.

Why would a number plate change be counted as another owner? I've done this quite a few times and another owner hasn't been added to the tally.

Then surely the owner would have it rectified, I certainly would if the DVLA had made a cock-up.

If you are thinking of selling in the next few years, or unless its cheap, I wouldn't, simply because you might struggle to sell in the future.
I turned away a bike that was 6 months old because it had had 2 owners.
My 2002 C4S had 1 previous when I bought it.

I think there are a lot of people buying cars these days who can't afford them, or who find they can't afford them due to changing circumstances. So this wouldn't necessarily put me off.
