Of course it does - when I complained to the Dealer Principal about the 70 miles and 1/4 tank of fuel missing from mine he said it was necessary to do an 'extended test drive' by the technician but couldn't explain WHY!
I eventually got 10% off a service so saved it for the Major one which they tried to deny all knowledge of until I produced their letter.
I don't use OPC anymore.

Did you warn him about your experiences at said opc when he mentioned it going in?
To be fair if they did need to test drive a car, & it happened at lunchtime, & the dinners needed collected.....
Yeah to be honest I'd be fuched off if it happened in my car.
Just out if interest (& being fully aware of the ph naming & shaming rules) where do YOU get your car serviced

Test drives are often done pre cleaning it and returning them to us poor mugs....
I would have taken a photo and given straight to your mate and NIGYSOB them!
Dont explain why until they say it never happened.
But they do often give them a quick 'rag' to 'shake down' any work - which generally I have no issue with if done sympathetically

This is why owners like me take courtesy 11 plate boxsters to track days when we are given a loan car from the OPC.
I remember when I mentioned it on here a last year how a few of u owners got ur panties in a twist and gave me a ball breaking about it. Well just goes to show the dealers ain't much better so don't get mad, get even and next time take 3mm off their new Michelin Tyres in 24 hours like I did

Because two wrongs make a right, obviously.
If the car was clearly being ragged on said sandwich run, then it would be an issue (unless there was a diagnostic reason for this). If the test mileage put on was excessive (which 70 miles clearly is), then it would be an issue. However, I can honestly say that if I saw my car out and about whilst under the care of an OPC and it was being driven sensibly then I don't think it would worry me too much. Last year my car spent a week at OPC Colchester trying to diagnose an intermittent issue I had, and I expected them to put some good mileage on it trying to make it work, and also it tended to happen only when pressing on so that would've meant them driving it fairly hard. In that case, had I seen them doing 80-90 up and down the A12 I'd have been perfectly content with that, sometimes it does form part of the diagnosis. I do have a good relationship with them there and they did resolve the issue completely, which I was delighted about.
However, if it had only gone in for a quick service and been seen doing 90mph on the back roads then it would've been a different story. It's all about the circumstances at the end of the day, is it not?
