Was with a 'friend' earlier in the pub who dubbed my 993 a hairdresser's car.

This is from the man who briefly owned an M3 ( circa 1990) which burnt to the the ground.

Electric chair or lethal injection ?

I've never heard a 993 described as such before. Even a tiptronic soft-top.

What does the chap drive now that his M3 is no more?

Apparently every car I've had is a hairdressers car, comes with the job though I suppose...

smart car and now a 3 series I think. Aspirations for an R8. Respect.

Do you reckon a hairdresser has ever rocked up in an F40 or a Veyron ? Haidressers cars surely

don't really get the hairdresser comment with any 911. could understand it when a decade ago I had a ford puma, but it was worth it- best car i've ever had (911 included)

Hmm, I must have missed a trick.
I worked at a Ford dealers when I was 18 (1997) and drove loads of Fiestas, Kas and the odd Puma, (and Probe unfortunately) and never really thought they were anything special. Not rubbish or anything, just not wow.

It's fair to say though at that age my driving didn't focus on subtle handling traits of different cars. It was more a case of switching the throttle pedal to "on" eg fully down, then hope for the best. wink
Thankfully I grew out of that stage quite quickly.
I'd maybe think differently now but I haven't driven one since then.

Pumas are a squashed Fiesta aren't they? Fiestas handle well enough so I can see how Pumas could be fun. smile

No honestly, they're are stunning to drive ... simple as.

Amazing handling, body control, gorgeous drivetrain, lovely box, pointy and mega-chuckable and they turn in a hold line like a limpet.

If you've ever got a spare 1500 quid... get one ... they are a complete riot and as good as anything for pure driving.

Praise indeed. Interesting stuff.

I'm sure I'll get to try one in the future then. The step-daughter is just about to learn to drive and she's car mad. She couldn't get insured on a one on the road yet I doubt but, I've said she can start doing trackdays with me once she gets some experience behind the wheel.

Could be the perfect vehicle. scratchchin
