I collected my 997 yesterday - no pics as I've been busy driving it/scaring family and friends biggrin

However, I have notice problems with condensation immediately after parking up. Yesterday was quite cool and damp out, and I had the blower on about 23, but all of the windows would mist up about 5 mins after parking up.

Any suggestions? Are there drain channels I should check? Car is a coupe with a sunroof.

Air flow on recirculate??
If not check carpet at bottom of both doors, behind seats and in foot wells to check for leaks.

May just be atmospherics. I find my Cayman S mists up sometimes as you've described and there are definately no leaks in mine.

Both Boxster and 911 cab have done this to some extent, just hit the quick demist button and wait a minute, it usually clears things.

Have run a 997 4 GTS for 3 months and misted up a couple of times - rear more prone to it than the front and it also seemed to happen when I had luggage in the back. As said, a quick blast with the fill screen demist usually does the trick. CMD

Had exactly the same with my 996 on Friday - weather conditions, it was just one of those days. Judging by the other responses here, you don't have anything to worry about...unless you find wet carpets.

Interesting development... rear carpets feel a little damp, though that could just be surface condensation. However I dropped the rear seatbacks earlier and found this on both sides... any idea?

Your speakers have been sick, try driving less erratically.

If it's a gen 1 car, chances are that the engine is about to let go, and a replacement will cost slightly more than the car is now worth second hand, even if it was an absolute minter with 12 years of OPC warranty remaining - which actually isn't worth the paper is written on.

On the upside, if you could video your wife in the drivers seat and post a link to you tube, them all will be fine as everyone will be green with envy anyway - despite your Porsche problems.

wink

That looks like bleach damage - has someone possibly wet and dried the interior, but failed to dry it our properly after?

My 997 never misted up from memory and I had the sunroof option as well. Check all the vent grills / pipes for blockages, if these are ok and your aircon is working properly then try and keep the aircon on as much as possible to dry out the air in the cabin. That should solve it - but the carpets are damp it can take ages to dry - getting the interior properly cleaned and dried.

If not water ingress is detected then a possible solution is to use a glass polish (AG do a cheap one) on the inside of all glass. No idea why but it usually stops condensation forming.

Hi, inner door panel seals could of failed, quite common failure and cost £100 per panel to buy. They are a teel inner panel with a weird foam type bead of seal, which fails over time.

Get it checked out.

Thanks Mike! Was thinking of heading over to you guys at some point in the future after reading such good things about you!

Would this be behind the door cards I take it?
