Obviously I have this place if I ever want to know my car's currently worth £14, and that if I actually use it teh engine's likely to detonate, but what if I want things like advice, tips, etc? What's regarded as the best forum at the mo?

Ta!

Usually I would have said this place. I have 3000 odd posts on here and 60 odd on 911uk.com but agree with the recent what's it worth plethory it is becoming a more attractive site. Is it just that its winter an nobody is driving much. Surely there are some winter mod projects we could oggle while our cars depreciate?

C'mon PH!

Not many projects as too many folks are worried about the money that is draining from their cars in standard form, without losing even more money on upgrades.
Just glad I went to the darkside as such and got my Caterham. Doesn't have the same class as the Porsche, but at least I know it's not oozing depreciation laugh

I've already posted it elsewhere, but here's a winter project (996 though, sorry - am I naughtily off topic?) for those with some time to kill:

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/996-gt2-gt3-...

For all the people worried about depreciation there'll always be some idiot tipping yet more money into a bit of metal biggrin

Best Porsche site in general imho is Rennlist, http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/index.php

You can't beat the diversity and number of owner drivers there.

It's very worthy and generally people are more polite than here...but it is quite dull and very US centric IMO. Great if you want to know/discuss something technical but it has a serious sense of humour failure.

Nope, though that job would cost me less if I did, probably!

That's my car with its underside bared, and I figured that a peek at it should be:
a) fun to look at
b) a good warning of how even modernish cars can start to deteriorate if left alone

I agree with the above.

I've found that 911uk isn't that great. In particular there is one guy which has like 1 million posts and has sort of become a law unto himself and treats new members of the board like idiots, assuming he knows more just because he has replied to every single post ever know to man.

I'd say rennlist for tech stuff and PH for (depressing) banter.

For techinical stuff on modern Porsches, it is hard to beat http://www.renntech.org

Some very knowledgeable people on there, and you always seem to get informed (and civil) answers.
