Tyres - any bargains about?
Discussion
This is a bit of a generic question really but figured it would be best placed here since I would be looking for N-rated tyres...
Anyone bought any recently and come across any New Year bargains or discount codes? I know the usual suspects like blackcircles, camskill, etyres, etc but I'm still looking at well in excess of £1k for a set of 4 tyres for my Cayman S. OPC quoted another £500+ on those prices.
Thanks in advance

Try pneusonline, tyre express and elite-direct too.
The best quoted prices I could find for tyres for my car was here http://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/buy-tyres-online.ph...

Try calling a Kwik-Fit centre, they are doing 25% off at the moment on ALL tyres, I know this as I just purchased N1 Pilot Cup + for my RS at a great price.
The 25% discount does not apply online, you have to deal with a centre directly.
I actually saw that on the way home when driving past a Kwik-Fit, but assumed their prices might have been inflated to compensate. Will pop in tomorrow and ask, thanks! The 25% discount does not apply online, you have to deal with a centre directly.
Bought a full set of 4 vredestien ultrac's for my 997s for £650 including delivery. Great tyre up there with the pirelli rosso's that were on the car at less than 1/2 the price.

One of the benefits of being free from the shackles of opc warranty restrictions I suppose!

If they're not N-Rated you're definitely going to crash into a wall the first time you try to negotiate a bend. Imagine what Peter Morgan would say if he found out about these non N-Rated tyres too, christ you've just set yourself up for some serious depreciation, you may aswell just give your car away235/35/19

Pretty sure this isn't correct, but just called Kwik Fit for a price on a set of rears for my 997 C2s, and they guy said straight off the bat 'They need to be the right N rating and match up with the front'
Good so far, seems like he's on the ball.
So he gives me the price of £321 all in (including the discount, which I think makes the tyres overpriced to start with)
THEN he says, 'I'd really need to see the car to check the N and load ratings otherwise it'll invalidate your insurance.'
WHAT?!
Whilst you could sort-of argue that it might not be worth the risk to fit non-N tyres from a performance perspective, I'd love to see an insurance company wriggle out of a claim on that basis. After all, Porsche 'Recommends' rather than 'Insists on'

I emailed PCGB this week to ask about mixing N rated tyres per axle because OPC's don’t all give the same story when it comes to the extended warranty. Reply - "To maintain the Porsche warranty all tyres must have same N rating all round".Good so far, seems like he's on the ball.

If you don’t have the warranty then it doesn’t matter, neither does it matter for insurance.

You haven’t, have you? It is customary to upload some pics.
No rear seat belt provision, no good for me and I'm far to far down the line with mine

Seriously tho' the 2RS has different N numbers front and rear so your Porsche contact is wrong
Ah! didnt know that, how does that work? I wasnt model specific when I asked.993AL said:
