Oh my is the C4s with PSE one of the best car sounds ever.

Very very happy.

My top 3 car sounds in no particular order. (cars that I have experience with)

Lambo Gallardo with Tubi
M3 CSL (standard)
996 with PSE

if you havent got one, you need one!

Spyder with PSE at full chat - very nice!

Any 6 E36/E46 M3 - that straight six is intoxicating!

Evening Lee,

pleased to hear you're enjoying it.

Mate of mine had one in last year. No exagerration, I was almost dumbstruck when I heard it! I've been singing the PSEs praises ever since.

My mate summed it up when he said "It's almost 'Ferrari good' isn't it." He had a 550 at the time. smile
Car looks lovely.

Hello mate, agreed. Makes the car sound 'supercar' good!

Heard a Spyder in the pit lane at Silverstone and was shocked how nice it sounded. Must have been PSE.

Had a gundo bypass completed on my OEM exhaust and it was nice but not what I had heard with factory PSE.

I was lucky enough to find a used PSE in very good condition and couldnt be happier!

I drove a C2S with factory PSE and, with the windows up and inside the car, struggled to notice much difference (possibly as we didn't push the car much over 4k rpm). I also was slightly underwhelmed at the noise on startup, standing right behind the car, when compared to, say, any modern Aston.

Was it perhaps a duffer ?

I had great times in the car, and it was a good car but I have really gone off 996's.

PSE was the main feature, it get's louder the more miles you put on itsmile

On the 997 there is a switch for the exhaust, did you make sure it was on 'Loud' mode?

This is the most accurate vid I have heard of the PSE.

off topic: notice the subs where his rear seats should be.

Maybe it was plugged in and you did 30-50mphbiggrin Seriously it should be loud though on the 997 not as loud as the 996.

With you there the C4S with PSE is awesome.
There is one near where i live and i hear it every night on the local bypass it kind of echoes, lovely sound.
My dad has a 996 C4S without the PSE I need to persuade him to get sorted.
This is what i miss with the GT2 to be honest its just not quite loud enough albeit sounds better than the 996 Turbo i have owned in the past

Why do people keep going on about a c4s with PSE, is it not exactly the same as any facelift 996 with a PSE? Is it another method of ramming in the critical fact it is a c4s you own not a lowly c2 with a PSE?

Or am i missing something.

These cars are very well soundproofed and the engine is a ways behind you, afterall. I usually crack the sunroof at this time of year and you get a lot more of the sound. When the weather warms up (or if I'm feeling brave in the cold) Windows half way down with cracked sunroof - a really great noise. It brightens my day. And, its about the only thing that does on the roads now. Going down narrow roads with some revs, the sound bounces around. Absolute heaven.
