New 981 Boxster pics
Discussion
Looks fantastic, more remarkable is despite being slightly bigger it's a bit lighter too - 77lbs according to Jalopnik. Can't wait to see an 'S' in the flesh, and it bodes very well for the Cayman assuming it'll follow suit. Dare I say it, I think I prefer it to the new 911.

Few more pics to add..

"On the outside, the new Boxster is longer and takes some design inspiration from the 918 Spyder Concept. It has shorter front and rear overhangs, along with a very forward-sloping windshield, providing for an overall flatter silhouette that likely helps with its aerodynamics. The biggest change inside concerns a centre console that is inspired by those found in the latest 911 and the Panamera, featuring a large screen and similar controls. A longer wheelbase and wider tracks translate into more passenger space.
Performance is improved by an all-aluminium body that is significantly lighter than the all-steel frame of the outgoing Boxter, while a revised chassis sheds some more pounds. The base model gets a new a 2.7-liter flat-six that produces more power –- 265 horsepower — outgoing model’s 2.9-liter unit, which produced 255-HP. A sprint from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) comes in at 5.7 seconds, which compares favorably to the 5.8 seconds of outgoing model.
The higher-level Boxster S uses the existing 3.4-liter engine that has been revised to produce 315-HP, 5-hp more than its in the older model. 0 to 100km/h (62mph) comes in at 5.0 seconds, once again better than the 5.2 seconds of the model it replaces. Both the base Boxster and the Boxster S are more fuel-efficient, despite their extra horsepower, and come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, while an optional seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission is available. A Sport Chrono Package and the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) are two of several other optional features.
The all-new 2013 Porsche Boxster will hit European dealerships in the spring of 2012, while U.S. sales will follow in the summer with a starting price of $49,500 for the Boxster and $60,900 for the Boxster S.

Very pretty. It looks more "mature", if you like.
The interior is excellent too.
I am sure it will be great to drive, and will probably cost 10k more than the current one (just my 2p..)
edited to add that if that's the sport chrono option in the top interior picture, it looks far better designed than in the 911.
It looks like the new Cayman might be the sports car to have

Utterly, utterly stunning. I thought I liked the 991, but this is now the car I'd be happy to replace my 997 with. Those side intakes work very well with the overall shape, and although the rear lights by themselves look fussy, integrating the spoiler into them really does give the rear end character. Who says Porsche only do conservative styling?
For £45K, the S looks to be a bargain.
Interesting to note that the manual cars only get a 6-speed 'box though, not the 7-speed from the 911. Does that say more about the 911 being a GT car than it does the Boxster being more sporty?
