Hi, I am considering buying a used 997 from the above OPC. The car hadn't yet been prepped aesthetically, although it was in very good condition generally. Does anyone have any experience of buying an older (~6.5 year old) car from them?

Also, the car was always serviced by them since new, I see this as a plus, unless they are known for being muppets in the tech department?

I've used them for smaller stuff and found them vey helpful and accommodating; I'd use again in a flash.

My last 996 had all its stamps from them and the car was in lovely condition, so I think as long as the owner doesn't mind forking out Guildford really like to look after their carssmile

Do we have a list of the Good the Bad and the Ugly or can we construct one?

As in, (allegedley) from alleged posts that we have witnessed:-

Allegedly.

Good - Guildford. Leicester

Bad -

Ugly - Belfast
No, it would break the Rules of Posting and the thread would be deleted.

Excellent news! Thanks for all the feedback. I've also heard that they are part of Porsche GB, well, they certainly had enough 991s there for viewing and driving (5x).

The sales guy was very young but a great guy. No pressure at all and very straighforward.

The deal sounds good to me and I love the car and the colour (Seal Grey), its unfortunately missing the heated seats and PSE. Now its just a question of making a decision.

I have mixed feelings about OPC Guildford. They never charged me the amount they quoted for any job they did for me. But they seemed ok apart from that. I think the service manager is called Jeff (Geoff) Moyles, but I might have made that up! But he's an ok guy who also knows about old 911s. So they are ok bunch, but the continued inability to charge more than the quote pushed me to GT-One for servicing.

So why move? They charged you less than you thought they would?

Yes, thats correct. One of three directly owned by Porsche GB. Used them for my C2S and my current GT3 RS, top notch service.

@RiccardoG (OP): PSE can be retrofitted. Unless your proposed 911 is a cab., then don't worry too much about the heated seats! Good luck with your decision.

Thanks. Unfortunately the car was sold before I could even go back for a second check/drive and deposit!
