Cayman rear wiper

Jumped in the cayman last night when it was very frosty and the rear wiper refused to work.
I checked the blade was not frozen to the window and still no joy.
This morning I checked the fuse and that was fine.
While driving this afternoon. It suddenly started working very slowly and now it's fine.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
