My first post, but interesting one i'd hope. Been on PH surfing for many years but never had anything to post about, until now. My joining date almost the same as when this started. Read about the 9E800 in 911 magazine and knew i had to have something like that. Got a 90k mileage turbo that needed so tlc and with my job wanted to have something cool to drive to work and that.

Meet Ken and team at Nine Excellence when they opened March last year - first customer i think - was planning 9E700 kit and left car with them. Kindly offerred to drive me to the car rental place at gatwick in the actual 9E800 from the magazine - just defied words and was straight on phone to Ken telling him to change my order. Tried to talk me out of it and told me he'd call in couple of days after they checked the car.

Couple of days later get a call. They won't do the build, not even the 9E700 or anything. Some pump, oil I think was too noisy. Long discussion ended with me thinking wtf and decided to go for 9E800 wiht full build.

Due to cost had to make the build over many months - car need other work never mind the upgrade. That suited Nine Excellence as well so work progressed based on payments. Couple of months down the line, engine completely stripped - i'd think 4 lifters (?) where broken and pump was on last legs so right decision was made.

The summer months passed and I was becoming restless to get the car - not ken's fault, just work was being done as I could afford it. And then i get a call - car is breathing and can I come down and help run it in.

Spent couple of days at the garage running the car for 50-100 miles at a time, then back on ramp, checking for god know what but theyt never did find any wrong. Finally I took delivery 19th September. Restricted boost to 1.25 bar, run the car for 1k miles and bring back in. Well I was out most nights just driving so one week later I am back.
Boost increased to 1.35 - can't believe what a difference .1 bar makes in the car. Back off driving with instructions to bring car back when 6k miles are done.

I get a call from them inviting me to a private testing day to put car threw it's paces. Meet Frank who was testing some new turbo they had done, and Toby with his gt2. All paid for by them. Stupid me forgot to take my anti sickness tabs and James took me out in my car to show me what to do. Then Toby took me out in his and that topped it off, feeling really sick and had to take an hour out. Great day was topped off when they turned the boost up to 1.45 at this end and James sat at a passenger in my car with me driving shouting at me down the striaght - more, more and when he shouted brake I looked up to see over 202 gps on their machine. What a day. Then they turned the boost up to 1.55 bar and said enjoy your trip home.

Spoke to ken earlier today - will be dropping the car with them this week - i've done 12000 miles since September - just cannot stop it - so addictive. Just love the power when it comes on boost.

Haven't had one single issue in 12000 miles - god I am half way through my warranty already but i don't doubt that the next 12000 miles will be as fun.

Thanks. Not great with words and don't know too much going on in the car, but I just drive it and not worry. How I have managed to not have points is a wonder.

Everytime I get in it, i just forget about everything else going on in my life - well worth the money and they bent over backwards - just the things like the invite day paid for and so on. Every time i ring him he thinks I am winding him up about the mileage I've done.

Great stuff; but could do better with posts! More pics, data, prices, tyre usage, effect on brakes etc, etc

Will try harder with posts - not something i do cause never had anything to say.

Needs new tyres on rear and they were new when I took the car in September. Think just rears need replacing at this stage. Only money spent so far has been petrol and one service thing in November which was about 200 quid.

Car now going for major service i understand, new rear tyres and anything else needs doing.

Don't have any data - will ask him when I see him this week, but i know that they tested 60-130 in just 6.5 seconds i think and that was at 1.35 bar. Will be leaving the car with them for a couple of weeks as got work stuff to do.

Doing a lot of motorway stuff when going to places for work and have been getting over 20 to gallon - on boost is a different case lol.

Man just made up with getting over 200 gps which was so easy to do.

I think it is running at max boost now but will check - got some boost control thing that i can switch to make it faster or slower - think Frank has one of those things in his car as well.

I think they will run more numbers etc.

Know the engine had upgraded rods, pumps, or what it takes so it is called a built motor.

Got big brakes on front of car..6 pots which feel great and differnet clutch.

i will get him to post what the spec of the car is - i have it some place but he knows better than me. Just know it is very quick. Same turbos as the magazine car k24-20 with stainless ypipe.

Thing was the car had 91k on it already and engine was not in best, so having new engine was good - car feels sweet to drive and other than when on boost it feels and drives the same as before.

Just luv it

Wow Scott,
Absolutely brilliant,9E-800 kit and 12,000 miles that all the proof one needs these kits Ken has developed do the biz and are safe.
Hey, thanks for posting a picture of my car btw. Very surreal seeing it on the tinternet.lol
It was a shame you didn't get out at Brunters a little more, as you know my cars not slow anymore.lol and it would have been nice to see whats its like getting blown away by another 150 bhp.
Its good to know your enjoying her.

It was a great day wasnt it, Toby's car was some machine as well. It was good you all came along and made the day not just a testing session but a bit of a get together.

I recon Kens well and truly on your permanent Christmas Card list.

Now you have had some experience, have you any updated performance times etc and how about a few more pictures.....an non of my Lard Ass either.lol

Just as an update to my K1639's as well, there pulling great, in fact about as much power as I can handle for the moment and I cant get over the lack of Turbo Lag. I have only done 3k since Brunters so haven't got as many miles under my belt as you.biggrin

When do you think we will all get together again, I hope ken has some more testing to do and we get an invitelaugh

Frank
