Evening gents, just wondered if any of you knowledgeable folk would have any info on this car:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3523099.htm

Any info/advice would be very much appreciated!

PS Would the aerokit be notified on the option sticker under the bonnet?

If it came out of the factory with aero kit yes it would have the option code, but suspect this car hasn't as it has the standard front splitter and not the one that comes matched with the rear wing.

or me...

Thanks for the replies so far! How would I know if the the rear wing is a genuine Porsche item, would it be stamped as such?

According to the 2004 brochure 'sports chassis -10mm' was standard on turbo, 350 quid option on Carrera etc and n/a for GT2/3. X73 could be specced on turbo as an option from '04> but obviously can be retro-fitted. Aerokit was a completely separate option at around 3.5k for turbo c2004.

ETA, Can't find any mention of glass sunroof.

Why isn't the seller getting it serviced and the tyre done? Maybe there are other issues that the £800 wouldn't cover?

The turbo is lower than the Carrera by 20mm(?) so does the X73 go lower still? How much by?

The turbo is lower than the Carrera by 20mm(?)
Oh is it? didn't know that, my brochure states turbo has sports chassis as standard which is 10mm lower than stock Carrera but can be specced on Carrera as an option. X73 option uses spring/damper setup that lowers car by 20mm I believe and includes firmer engine mounts...cant remember if different ARB diameters are used, will have to check that one sometime.

Is that
Carrera --> Turbo
or
Turbo --> X73

...or perhaps the owner got fed up of continually grounding/replacing the painted aerokit front splitter and just put on the cheaper standard one. (bit short-sighted not to replace it for resale though)

Obviously the cost of changing the wing (parts and labour) will be many times more than the cost of changing the splitter, so it's unlikely someone would go to the trouble and expense of putting the wing on and not the splitter.

Be interesting to see what the options label says....
(OP - if the label under the bonnet is difficult to read due to age/wear/fading, then the same label should be inside the service book)

Sometimes it's all about personal preference alone, I like the aero kit wing but can't stand the painted front splitter.
