boxster spyder with a gts engine
Discussion
was thinking about gen 1 boxster/cayman s with x51 engines which has been done and also been done by an opc.as the gen 2 cars are not easy to tune for more power what if you put a gts/x51 3.8 in a spyder or cayman R what a car you would have 400 bhp 1275 kg. but is it going to go in and what else would need changing if anything?
so you buy a £30k spyder add new engine fitted for £15k less £5k for old engine =£40k for a giant slayer!!

Of course 911 engines rotate in the opposite direction too.
Opposite direction to Cayman/Boxter engines? Surely they just swap the differential to drive the other way?I did hear that the GT3/Gen1 Turbo engines spin the other way though, hence why they can't mate to a PDK box...

Oddly no pictures of the engine (you'd think that would be an important picture to take) and that exhaust is well off centre hahamayes911 said:

labour cost would hurt + insurance + limited resale value..............so you buy a £30k spyder add new engine fitted for £15k less £5k for old engine =£40k for a giant slayer!!
you have to be committed...
crazy IMO.. but hey it will be unique for sure.....

The differential orientation is different that's all, Porsche engines all turn clockwise - (some/all?) Honda engines turn anticlockwise..........I did hear that the GT3/Gen1 Turbo engines spin the other way though, hence why they can't mate to a PDK box...
