I have been watching the Spyder classifieds for sometime now & over the last few days there have been a number of special edition cars with less than 1000 miles .... Any ideas as to h they have jus appeared all around the £44k ish mark?

I believe they have been pulled out of the post-production stock Porsche had left and most of the OPC's are ordering them in. Doesn't really explain the mileage on them though, but one OPC did tell me they will start to see them now coming back from lease firms etc.

Of more concern, where have their missing ponies gone?

Mine is certified full fat 320bhp. All these currently advertised are 305!!

Perhaps OPCs have been told to offload their ex-demo Spyders to make room for the 981 in the showroom...

I think the power question is more a case of the listings database the OPCs use.

All of the cars, from my conversations - are full spec 320.

A few have sold this week though, there were 20 listed late last week.

And yes, there are some fantastic deals to be had. I was considering one a couple of weeks back and put a cheek offer in, 20% less than list. They didn't say no!

yikes

but as I said in an earlier post, I did wait until it was fully warmed up before I...so there should be no long term problems with that particular one I'm sure.

I've been looking at Spyders since they launched and most of the time they have been marked down as 305bhp, not 320bhp, so wouldn't read anything in to that. Even the Cayman R I had recently was down as 310bhp when it should be 330bhp!

Just had a look on here and there are only 14 advertised, no private sales and all but 2 at OPCs. I think that's the least there's ever been. By the time it's spring and the sun's shining they wil be like gold dust. biggrin

some of the cars you will find are only delivery miles i rang up about cars showing a 1000 miles but they only had 25.they stopped making the spyder in july 2011. the car was never a great seller(that roof),if in the market for one i recommend looking at the chassis number to see how old it is(letter b denotes 2011 model year which i believe even cars regd early 2010 are and last 3 digits went to about 900+.i bought my car 31/12/11 and its a 2012 model year(letter C so most probably built in the last batch in july tne last 3 numbers are 100+) it was pre regd and only had 4 miles on the clock.

if you think there are a lot of spyders have look how many cayman Rs are floating around and there stilling building them up to end of this month

Didn't quite understand that last bit, do you expect there to be quite a few more Cayman R's coming through?

yes i believe there are some already in the country waiting to see light of day,but a new cayman is not coming out to early 2013 so they(987.2 cayman) will be let loose gradually.whereas the new boxster arrives spring so there are a lot of boxsters (987.2)to be got rid of
