Hi new to the forum, seeking reassurance ahead of talking to dealership tomorrow. Put Esso super unleaded into my Cayman 2.9 for the first time last night, prior to that the last fill up was Murco unleaded standard. Drove 10 miles down the M42, parked up and whilst the engine was idling the yellow engine block light lit up with message to take to dealer. Spoke to Porsche technician last night who suggested it might be down to change in fuel mix. Yellow light still on this morning. Anyone else had a similar issue? Any thoughts? Idling revs sit at a steady 700 rpm, oil levels OK, no 'clumpiness'when driving back home last night, no apparent mis fire. 32 months old 31k on the clock

I only use shell v power in performance cars.
Even Porsche state use 98ron.
Gotto pay to play.
You will have to visit dealer and get it checked as it might be somethink else.
Or buy your owncable and software.

Sounds as if it may be a fuel issue but as already said, best to get it checked out.

Murco fuel is probably really crap. No offence I wouldn't put Murco petrol in any car of mine and especially not a performance car.

It might just be that the car is trying to make sense of the change in RON/fuel quality, I would've thought it unlikely to be more serious but having said that it's worth checking out regardless as the fuel change might be masking something else.

I'd like to understand how that happens and creates a warning light.
