....I'd be looking at these:

guards with black, 2 owners in the last ten years. Noticed it in the Porsche post this week & it just "looks" like a good'un from the ad somehow.

Under 40k miles, X51 power pack & a good colour, could be interesting..... Didn't know that they ever fitted mk2 gt3 kits on the carrera though-aftermarket?

I think this one is a beauty

Plus its 2K less on the dealers website than the rest of the net.

Just goes to show, check all sites before ringing the dealer.

I am contemplating one and this has caught my eye. Miles are bit up there and they don't mention Litronics or switchable exhaust which I really want, and the dealer specialises in Smart cars (which may or may not be a worry).

I think the Seal grey with X51 & LSD looks the best of the choices mentioned dep. on budget especially with its history though a clutch change at such a low mileage? If you were so inclined a set of original GT3 wheels would complete the 'look'?

Wow. Any chance that you could share your secret? It would save us all a ton of time and pain.

Ah that'll be the failure to spot my disclaimer by stating looks in inverted commas then.

There is something very appealing about buying a £10,000 996. I just love old German cars.

928, BMW 7 series, Merc 500....

In fact I am nor sure I can hold back much longer on the 928!

If you fancy a really nice low mileage 1997 CL coupe (last owner 9.5 years, full blank-cheque fettling to fix every minor issue they could find at Merc last April) just PM me. Less expensive than the 928S4 and a far safer bet from an ownership perspective. smile

I saw a mint one with LPG recently, just been restored I think - owned by a chap I met on a shoot but his business is car restoration (older generally I think). I can try to get in touch to see if it's for sale if you like? It's white, with some colour coding.
