996 C4S PSE query..?
Discussion
.. I think my button for the PSE is playing up, sometimes randomly it won't go quiet and the switch doesn't do anything, next time it works fine.
What is the default for these cars on start up..? loud or quiet..?
On start up mine is loud, with PSE switch light off, light on = quiet (when it works..!).
Is it a common fault..? most likley to be a dodgy switch block in the dash or something more expensive in the Xorst valve..?
Thanks
RB..

..Cool, I will see if I can pull the switch block out, maybe a loose wire..!
ref my swap to a cooking Porsche from a GT Porsche, for me absolutely the right way to go, I just couldn't live with the GT3 on the roads round my way, it just got tiring, and pissed me off with the heavy clutch and having double vision going into every roundabout with rumble strips on it.. the car is / are epic, sounds magnificent and I loved it, but not if you need to drive half an hour to find a road that it makes sense on..
The 4S, I bought without driving it, on advice, and I had a 'well it's going to be rubbish because it's not a GT3' attitude, but after a month, the 4S is fantastic, I can use it everyday, park it where I like, leave it at the pub, it goes plenty fast enough for a road car, makes a lovely noise, does 24mpg all day long and 30 on the motorway, doesnt shake my fillings out, doesn't hurt my back, it goes up and down car park ramps, gets over speed bumps, and doesn't attract too much attention in seal grey.. superb, throughly recommend them, and cracking value for circa £20K-£22K now..
I miss my GT3 badly, but I get my 'fix' on the race track in a proper race car now, so I just dont need it, now I drive home from the track in comfort in the 4S, and for me this is perfect.. !
Now I need to go and fiddle with its PSE switch.. !

.. Yes, mine does too, default on start up is loud, light off, you can switch it to quiet on ignition too, but sometimes when mine is running, the switch doesn't work, the light does not come on, restart and it usually works as it should, do we think this is a switch fault or a valve fault in the Xorst..?
