Hi All,

I've done a search on the subject but couldn't find anything conclusive. I'm tentatively looking to get back into the Porsche fold and at current prices the 996 range is quite attractive.

A few years back I briefly owned a 986. My one criticism of the car was that I would prefer a little bit more legroom. Does anyone know if the 996 (Assume C2 if it makes any difference) has more legroom than the 986?

Thanks

Yes, lots more in my experience.
I feel quite cramped in my Spyder compared to my 996tt.

No bulkhead behind the seats in a 911 helps massively!

My Turbo has oodles more room than my Boxster. But before you plunk down the money for the 996 sit in it. Adjust the seat to make sure you can get it like you like.

Oh, and the ability to move the seat back even further unless it is already back as far as it will go and recline the seat back means I can on a long road trip stretch out and cat nap and that's a lifesaver when I get very tired and can't stop for the night.

Sincerely,

Rockster.

And a footnote is that provided that you don't have PCM you can fit the GT3 trim parts to delete the lower console from either to gain more knee space for your left leg.

Thanks guys. I've been to see a couple today and the additional room is noticeable.
