Just wanted to drop a quick note to praise the guys at 911 Virgin.

I bought my 997 C4S from them around 4 months ago and it is fantastic.

However, since I bought the car it has always been a bit sluggish to start especially when hot. Last week, it finally gave up the ghost failing to start when hot and subsequently displaying all sorts of electrical woes (Mobridge unit not working, Satnav not working, etc)

I called Tom at 911Virgin and he immediately asked my to drop the car off for investigation and agreed to loan me a car to get me around. They carried out a thorough investigation, identified the problem, fixed it and presented the car back to me this morning cleaned inside and out, all free of charge.

These guys pride themselves on delivering top quality cars and excellent service and support. they say that an awful lot of there sales are repeat business. Now I know why. As far as I'm concerned this is exemplary after sales service. Thanks guys !!!!!!!!

It was a battery which wasn't liking the cold weather. Not something which showed up when it was with us basking in our tropical climate.

I took out the Major Mechanicals warranty, but as Henry said, this turned out to be a battery, which I don't think would have been covered. They changed it anyway. Again, simply can't fault their whole approach.

I've always thought it's how a business deals with a problem that really shows how decent they are.

I wonder if you'd have started a thread had there not been a problem?

Echo this comment....

I dropped Tom a line last week, with a question on DME and over-revs.....he responded/asked me to call him straight away and explain the findings - for a car I was purchasing elsewhere!! Put my mind at ease and explained the tech side beyond the scope of the OPC!

Long-term customer retention....

No probably not. I did start a thread when i first picked up the car, but this one was specifically to give credit where it was due. If and when i buy another 911, and,as i love the ne I've got, who know's when that'll be, no prizes for guessing where I'll be going.

Big bid/offer spread though, thats why the 'customer service' imo..Peanuts cost /aggro relative to the initial sale margin

But come on sharpen up ...its a business thats all,a good business man makes lots of money without anyone knowing!Bid/offer spread on Porsches is 25%..now and again a dealer has to go the extra mile to justify it..in most cases they get away with it with very little outlay..
