it's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question

all depends how you drive and what type of mileage you do

I've done a set of rears in under 4k road miles, some have done less and others have done more

You must drive like you have stolen it to get through a set in 4k miles.

I reckon 8-10k would be fairly normal. I have the same boots on my 996 c2 and they have loads of life left after 5k miles.

I do a lot of motorway miles but I've done 25k on my current rears and they are still legal (just!). That's in a Cayman S mind, slightly lighter car so they won't wear quite as quickly.

Rears on the Spyder c15,000 miles, fronts at 23,000 still going strong.

Managed only 3000 KM out of the rears on my new M Roadster in 1997 - quite proud of that :-)

I prefer to use the term 'enthusiatically'

On the turbo, I've only got around 4k miles from a set of rears, but that is mainly due to the inner edges being worn more than the outer edges (Outer edges still had a good 3mm from memory)

Yep 4000 from my 996 Turbo rears, with errr Spirited driving.
Isn't that the only way to drive it?

Corsas Ian? Unless you're going to be doing lots of trackdays I'd suggest sticking with the standard P-Zeros you have now. In fact, even if you start doing track days I don't think you'll exceed the limit of the standard P Zeros for quite some time (knowing that you've not been on track before).

Have you managed to fix your suspension and get a decent geo yet. Sure to improve your tyre life!

Lowest I got was 3k most I got was 7k on pirelli p zero N3.

The geo was correct and this was consistent in my near 5 year ownership, I later moved to Michelin PS2 which seemed better but rode softer.

The boys at Hartech (I assume - I don't think they outsource that)

They do it in-house - they have the latest Beissbarth (I think) kit and Longacre cornerweight scales. smile

IIRC a set of Pirelli's I had on my 996 C2 didn't last more than 7500 miles. I switched to Michelin PS2's and they seem to be doing a lot better. Due for a change soon but I should see 10,000 miles out of this set.
