Yes, there's a full thread about it on General Gassing.
Here's a link.

I'm not going to go on too much about what I think about the "author" but suffice to say, it's pretty sad when a mainstream car enthusiasts website is so rude & poorly informed in slagging off something someone's put an awful amount of work in to.
So the guy (or gal) has built a car that is fit for the purposes that he uses it for, namely car shows & the like.
Do I like "stance"? Hmmm not really.
Do I appreciate what has gone into it? Yes of course, it's a car, a Porsche at that so its something I'm going to find some interest in.
Is it any different to what marky911 wants to do with a 964 carrera4?
Ie, you take a nice 964 road car then optimise it for track, how is that any better or worse than taking a nice 964 road car & giving it the low dub look?
Both owners expressing what they want from a 964, both doing it in different ways.
That pistonheads has thoroughly pissed on someone's chips is pretty damn poor in my view.
Don't get me wrong, there are limits, like the 928 that was linked a few weeks ago, or the 993 that had the full on west coast customs look applied to it, but, as far away from what those cars are from what I'd want I can still appreciate what goes into building them.

It's not my thing, but I don't think it's that bad.
I don't think a Gulzar 964 would have resulted in such an article. Well, his Bentley, Rolls and Lambo haven't. Yet.
But it's an interesting point, lots of people said in the gulzar thread he was just a Barry-boy, albeit one with money & that if someone had done his mods (that were truly horrendous IMO) to a corsa he'd be derided.I don't think a Gulzar 964 would have resulted in such an article. & yes he probably would have been!
But, derision or praise aside, I feel it's wrong for pistonheads to publicly slate someone's car in such a way in an editorial.
The fact is gulzar's threads have shown that taste is a personal thing but at least HE had the chance to reply to his detractors, & part of the appeal is gulzar's "say what you like" attitude.
This article (& I use the term very loosely) smacks of.......bullying is the wrong phrase but I can't think of the right one?
A more balanced editorial view might have involved speaking to the builder/s of the car & getting their views, what got them into the scene, why they chose the 964 what they intend to do with it etc....
Then a full & frank exchange of views could have followed in the forums on what is no doubt bound to be a polarising subject.
What would you think if this weeks "shed of the week" read:
"look at this s
tbox!Why would you bother?
This prat obviously has dubious taste & seeing as its worth less than a grand is probably pretty thick as he can't earn enough to buy a decent motor.
Mock him when you see him, because he ain't as good as us, or at least he's different so it's just as bad"

Agreed, Gulzar putting his own cars on here and knew it would polarize opinion, but it was his own decision, and has had(and taken) the opportunity to defend himself. & yes he probably would have been!

Many moons ago I realised that PH journalism was well below par, when I responded to a thread about Vmax, and had my post deleted. I had made a lighthearted dig at PH for not covering the event in an objective manner, only to have why post deleted and a belittling email telling me off!
They hadn't mentioned an incident at the said event, that was subsequently publicised in magazine, and national newspapers. I had pm'd Craig to advise him of said articles, though he was already aware of them. The company involved in the incident had issued a "press release", which the "journalist"(I use the terms very loosly) on the day obviouly didn't know about, and hence think that they were doing the event organiser a favour by not mentioning the incident. I think it just made PH look silly.
When I read that Chris Harris was joining the team, it surprised me a great deal. Maybe his influence will rub off on the other "journalists", I sincerely hope so.
It eveidently hasn't happened yet.
Yep, poor show really, having a pop a the builder. The car and girl look fine to me. Fair enough her walk is a bit over the top but I'm sure she's just overdone it a bit for the vid.
I'm not into the air-ride thing but it's a different scene to what I'm into that's all. Car still looks great, on the move and it's clear the car is well loved.
2 great posts Craig. totally sums it up for me.

Erm, yes, about that C4. Inspection carried out today, will update my other thread at some point. My pizza is almost here, gotta go.
