991 C2 & C2S Cab Review
Discussion

"you can feel every one of the extra 50 horsepower in the Carrera S, but in truth there's only so fast you'd ever need to go on the public road and 0-62mph in 5.0sec and a 178mph top speed do the job. So we'd take the Carrera and save the £10,000 price difference. "
Video review here (in dutch) of the C2 Cab manual.
Seems to be a luke warm review.
The exhaust note without the PSE is OK, not what I would want personally but....

"and yet one can't help feeling that in making the 911 into such a competent all-rounder, a bit of the old magic has been lost."Seems to be a luke warm review.
Not by any means the first review to make this observation

smoke n a pancake....Whatcar have weighed in on the 3.4L vs. 3.8L engine debate:
"Both are brilliant, with the lower-powered version even sweeter than the S, with its crisper throttle responses lower down the rev range."
http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/porsche-911-cabrio...
..and so has Gulf-News :P
"With the 3.4 Carrera proving to be all the sportscar you'll probably ever need thanks to its flexible engine, compliant ride and willingness to entertain, the 3.8-litre Carrera S could be viewed as the decadent choice. That said, the extra torque (440Nm against 400) is nice to have, and the engine note is deeper and more urgent in tone than the sweeter-sounding 3.4 lump. "

I'm sorry, but I can't come to terms with that new rear end... The 997.2 is so much more womanly! The 991 looks more reptilian and therefore less sexy (unless you are into that sort of thing...ahem)!
Wish I could agree with you... certainly would've saved me some money given the 997 discounts/GFVs being offered. The heavier steering of the GTS (2 and 4) are certainly things I'll miss at times with the new model.
