Just a quick and rather blunt question as I have been offered a 3.2s tiptronic dirt cheap (and its a good car!)

Are the gearboxes up to much? I know it won't be anything like the pdk box but is it worth a shot or not?

They do the job fine, but that job is an ordinary automatic gearbox so it depends if this suits what you want/need. They're generally very robust and having one means the engine can't have been buzzed (over-revved by a missed or early down-shift). Oil change is specified for 96,000 miles but it's better done sooner.
