Sports and Classics or Hartech are up there somewhere, aren't they?
Hartech about 15 mins away, sport and classic about 45 minutes,,will give them a ring, anyone experience of both? He's also got free courtesy cars available if needed.
Try Cath Burrows in Wigan. Had my 996 C4S serviced there yesterday (major service, poly belt, six coil packs, bulb and minor power steering repair for £680 inclusive) She even did a boroscope check free of charge (squeaky bum moment but came back all good.. phew!). If you want a expensive 'fancy waiting area, expensive coffee and technicians who just do their job' experience then its not the place for you. If you want a straight talking, enthusiastic, no frills experience at a good price then she ticks the boxes. I travelled from North Wales so had to go into Wigan for the day and would do so again if I need any future repairs. She seemed passionate about porsche and engineering in general which goes a long way in my book. Only problem is though she's snowed under at the moment so you may struggle if you're in a rush.

There's such a choice in this area.
I've used Unit 11, Sports & Classic, Ninemeister and Hartech at various times and for various reasons (and will continue to do so) - they all know how to look after your car properly. Hartech are currently building two brand new Boxster race cars to contend the Porsche Club Championship, having helped support other teams in the Porsche Drivers Association championship for the last 2 years. So it's clearly a model they know well.
All of these and others can be found in the Wiki at the top of the forum front page. What I like about using specialists such as these is that if you want to they'll happily let you stand under your car show you anything they find when looking it over, and discuss things with you - you get to talk to the guy working on your car (something you can't usually do at main dealers for any brand, which I find incredibly frustrating) allowing you to build up trust and understanding with them.
