996 control arms
Discussion
Hi I wonder if anyone can tell me what non original track control arms they have used on their 996? I have been qouted 179 each for non original which seems a bit high to me? plus an hour to fit each side which seems ok? I dont want to fit cheap rubbish but not be ripped off either??

I used these on my boxster. OEM so as good as standard ones and havent noticed anything different. I was quoted over £600 by porsche to change the front two. Bought the ones n the link for £75 each and fitted myself. About an hour each side is right, maybe less.

Be careful of the cheap ones as we have seen some of these fitted and the material quickly oxides and also the rubber protection boot for ball joint cracks and splits as poor quality. Stick with OEM arms around £145.00 each. Has genuinee part numbers stamped on to casting and the porsche stamp is ground/etched off. You will need a 4 wheel
alignment doing too.
alignment doing too.
Did you remove undertray to fit and do you recall if they were 17 18 or 19mm nuts? odd question but need ring spanner not socket and want to get correct size!!!

We used to - new units used to only be available from Porsche at over £200 + VAT per corner and we were able to offer exchange ones at around half the price. The licence has now expired enabling them to be sourced directly from the manufacturer so the original ones in the manufacturers packaging are available on the after-market for a very reasonable price.
