Gen 2 997 C2S or Audi R8 V8
Discussion
Read quite a few thoughts between a C2S and an AM V8 but no R8's. Just a bit of pondering really, but thoughts?
This is an everyday car so the Porsche wins on practicality but I haven't driven an R8 and I do like a V8 engine note.
So, anybody had both? opinions? Quite suprised they are now mid £40k's and they are still a rare sight on the roads. Full silver (including usually painted side things) with BBS LM's?!

The R8 is vastly less practical. I've never driven the V8 but have driven the V10. The V10 is extremely rapid and a lot of fun....it's massively impractical though. Tiny boot, smaller inside too.
The 997 C2S is faster in a straight line than the V8.....round a track, no idea, and a lot more spacious inside and with a boot 3x the size.
Depends what you want - as a day to day, the 911 is superior. As a special occasion, as you say the R8's rarer and gives you more of a supercar feel. Depends what you're after!

I've had both, but my c2s was gen 1,I have driven numerous gen2 ones though. This is an everyday car so the Porsche wins on practicality but I haven't driven an R8 and I do like a V8 engine note.

It's a tough call, they each have certain advantages over each other, overall I preferred the r8,the chassis balance is exceptional and just made the car more exploitable to me ,but you won't go wrong with either.

I didn't find it much less practical to be honest,as my kids were teens when I had both the rear seats were useless in the 997,and the r8 had a small rear shelf which was very useable, boot space was similar from memory.
