Moving on from the usual stuff about pitching one model against the other etc etc. How about a good photo thread on ALL Porsche engines old and new ?
I'll start with my modest offerings, and the three car's i own.
1988 Porsche Carrera 3.2 with 60k miles and a top end refresh in 2010.

Porsche 1989 Turbo 5 speed with 72k miles and a engine build in 2011.

Porsche 1997 Carrera S with 36k miles and on original motor.

Well that is just showing off just because you can lift your boots and take a pic, do you know how hard it is to get to the engine on a Cayman
Was thinking exactly that - but then found a pic last week of somebody who'd fitted a clear cover in place of his parcel shelf.
Though from what I'm told the Cayman lump is just a load of plastic and metal unless you make some alterations yourself...

The new (Boxster) race car has a clear cover, which I thought looked really cool, but it's disappointing when the engine's running because it looks just the same - you can't see any movement or vibration. Maybe removing a plug lead would help? Though from what I'm told the Cayman lump is just a load of plastic and metal unless you make some alterations yourself...
