997.1 Carrera S wheel spacers
Discussion
Evening all
I'm thinking of getting some wheel spacers on my 997.1 S, I am thinking of going for 7mm on the front and 15mm on the back
Now I am a numpty when it comes to engineering and mechanical stresses on metals etc but my question is....... do wheel spacers affect the geometry and/or suspension components in a negative way?
My concern is they will place 'unplanned' stress on other suspension components.
Using a very simple theory.... if you hold a wheel against your chest it will be easy to hold it for a long time, if you hold it out horizontally at arms length, it wont be long before your shoulders and arms hurt.......do wheel spacers work the same way or am I being very simplistic and stupid?

So long as you fit hub centric spacers there shouldn't be any issues. They come with studs/new bolt holes incorporated into them and therefore are no different to fitting wider rims as the loading is taken in the same manner as if standard.
Thanks Trev450 I am thinking of getting these....

7mm on the front and 15mm on the back, are these the type you mean?
