Just before Christmas I noticed a very slight and I mean very slight judder in my brakes. It’s so slight I only really notice it when on a smooth road and travelling very slowly (and braking) or very gradually coming to a stop. It almost feels like the discs are slightly warped.

I was aware my rear discs were knackered so put it down to that. I changed the rear discs and pads yesterday and the problem has not gone away.

The front discs and pads were changed by an OPC last August and I have only done about 2500 miles since then. I never track my car etc but drive it in a spirited way on the road when I can.

While washing the car today I noticed what appears to be a hair line crack running across the width of the disc. I have taken a couple of pics. In the first pic you can see the crack just to the left of where the camera flash is reflected in the disc.

Is the normal? Any advice appreciated.

IMHO, a crack along the width without hitting one of the drilled holes is somewhat odd. confused

So what's running through my mind is a "casting fault", or have the discs been dropped at some point before they were fitted? Is suppose "thermal shock" is an option if they were red hot and you drove through a ford (or something wet) ...

As others have said - it's back to the OPC!

Talk to OPC you should not have any brake judder. It could be that the brake disc did not get checked for run out after fitting if they are juddering after this sort of time. It could just be a duff disc of course.
