Porsche PCM Nav Update Problems

Hi

I have a Porsche Cayenne with PCM 2.1, Bose, & Phone. (DVD Unit Under Seat)
When i bought the car it was running the 2004 Europe Map Code 997.642.235.03
Ive recently bought a 2009 Europe Disk on eBay (Non Original).Code 997.044.902.50

When i first put it in the DVD drive it asked if i wanted to do an update which i accepted.
Now the copied Map only reads intermittently and i get the Insert Navigation CD error message.
To Make matters worse although it still reads the original 2004 disk it says 'incompatible navigation software' if i try to plan a route.

Can anyone please help me as im now without any Nav at all.
Any assistance would be most welcome.

You need to update your system with the Level C update. Drop me a message with your email address.

It sounds like your map disc has corrupted data and you need a new map disc.

I'm not aware of an issue with the amps on the Cayenne. As yours is at Level B anyway, it won't be affected by the Level C update, which only updates the navigation drive.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to Richard for getting me sorted.
You're a star.
My Sat Nav now works as it should and i can stop tearing my hair out.

Also a big thanks to all other contributors on this thread.
I haven't visited PH for a while but it goes to show that with all that's wrong with this country theres plenty of good folks out there.(and on here)

Sorted it was the dvd i burned the image into a tdk dvd+r and the navigation system did not recognize the dvd, then i burned it to a sony dvd-r worked like a charm.
Rocking the 2012 maps i called porsche today and it seems theres a 2103 version update also.

pcm 2.1 ony updates every 2 years. I just got the latest which is 2013 but actually 2012. came with 2 update discs but only 1 updated anything in my 987 box. still no a3 tunnel!!

I have PCM 3.0 V1.4.
It does everything I need it to, but since my 911 was acquired from a career in software development, I'm always intrigued by later versions and updates.
What's the latest version for PCM 3.0 and is it worth forking out to upgrade?

Apologies, I have just tried to upgrade my disc to a 2012 map from the 2008 original I had but now I keep getting the "system start " message which doesn't disappear.

Is it that I have corrupt software (my DVD came with a disc but i wasnt asked for an update whn I installed it.

Can someone help?

You'll def need a SW update disc to jump to the most recent DVD. Speak to the source of your disc for them (there are more than one usually)
