Put a deposit down on an OPC supplied 1 owner 997C2S today. Black with black, 16k miles. Collect it Friday so very excited!
Good spec but Shame no sport exhaust though. Does it need it and if so can you pick up an after market /used ones that doesn't invalidate OPC warranty?

Aftermarket exhausts that don't invalidate the warranty don't exist sorry, congrats on the purchase, defrost needs a PSE IMO lol not what you want to hear when they cost £2.5k

I am sure one of us could burn you a CD for you to play - FOC as well as not invalidating your Warranty!

Enjoy - Khushy

I am not sure about that. If you have a new PSE retro-fitted by an OPC, I don't think it invalidates the warranty. It would do if you had a used one fitted by an indy though.

Is it worth it ? Subjective question but I, and i think others would agree, it adds that little something extra special to the car that puts a smile on your face when you hear your car roaring along the road

my definition of aftermarket is non-porsche, your right having a porsche PSE fitted wouldn't affect the warranty, on my Terms and Conditions anyone could fit it, but on the new ones possibly not, depending how daft your OPC is and the size of the claim i guess

Congratulations guys, I'm in the same boat as well (C4S on Saturday)! So we have 'new' PH board 997 owners on Thu, Fri and Sat this week.

Mines a black with extended black interior with Sat Nav. 13,000 miles on an 06. Private sale so I got the guy to get the 111 point check done and take out the warranty for me before the sale. As you can imagine with only 13k on the clock it is in pretty good condition and I shall enjoy putting some more miles on her.

Liking the pistonheads porsche owners club swelling on thursday, friday and saturday! Wont be posting for a few days I shouldn't think but we should reconvene next week and swap notes.

This is it's 'sexiest' shot.

Nice looking car.

Did they put the rear reflector strip across the back of the 997 C4S at some point?

Well done mate.

These look really sexy with the modern Fuchs alloys on them.

My parents neighbour has one with them on and it really sets the car off

I'm with you on the sexiest shot biggrin

Yes, interesting to compare notes next week. Currently I need to make some kind of driving plan from Reading to good roads / lunch / good roads back to London for the Saturday.

Only on the 997.2; which looks a bit fussy IMO.

So guys, what do you think of your 'new' 997s?

I must say, I love mine so far, it is just as I hoped it would be.

We picked it up on Sat morning and then went for a 2 hour drive down to the New Forest (topped off with a nice lunch for the Mrs.). This allowed me to see what its like both on A roads and on the motorways.

Things I like:
- The engine, its response at any revs
- The sound, even without the PSE the car sounds great and I drop down the windows whenever possible to listen to it
- The interior, mine is two-tone (black dash top and grey lower part) which looks great, love all the stitching and detailing
- The solidity of the car, feels very much one piece, no creaks etc
- The sense of occasion of just being in it, whether its in London traffic or on an empty B road

Things I don't like as much:
- Turn in feels a bit slower than I was expecting, particularly on slow speed roundabouts
- There is a strange 'step' in brake feel, I assume this is the 'air filling' thing on the C4S system?
- Quite a lot of road noise on the rougher motorway surfaces

Its off having a big 'spa' (detail) at a professional valeter the whole of the week now. Can't wait to pick it up again next week!

Looking forward to seeing how you guys got on!

The 997 and in particular the C4S, looks stunning with the modern Fuchs alloys.
That would be one mod I would definitely look to do if I had one of these...

Have to say that I am loving mine. It seems perfectly happy to go on a run to the shops but really comes in to its own on a fast A road (the car just feels so planted and confident you can move some great progress). Things which are slightly less great are the rubbish motorways (or sections of) and the stereo. In order to not void the warranty I can't have a decent bluetooth car kit or upgrade the audio to something which sounds half decent. I'll probably put up with it for this warranty period and then not renew next year.

Any shortcomings are more than made up by the driving experience. There is always a worry driving an iconic car that it will be a let down - this isn't.

Hope you guys are enjoying yours as much!
