Other than comments on the story, couldn't see anything in the Porsche section.
Thought this deserves a thread as the drive stories start emerging.
Harris seems pretty pleased with the car, with a positive first review. One of the best Porsches!
The steering seems to be a definate change. Without driving one, can't say much about it whether it is better or worse. Sure it makes the car a more relaxing long distance companion, but perhaps takes away something for the committed driver.
I have always enjoyed cars with this good steering feel, so it will be interesting to see whether the overall improvements out weigh this loss of 'feel'.
This new boxster is looking good and certainly seems to offer a great balance of value and performance.

I drove the wife's boxster straight after a 991s test and to me the steering was great in both, assuming the setup othe new boxster is like the 991 I don't think you will have any issue with the steering.
People seem to think all steering feel has been removed ,like BMW did With the m3, but it is simply not true.

"The Boxster's lost some of that. The edge has dulled slightly and the result is a more mature, less emotional car. For the average consumer, that's probably a reasonable tradeoff, but not for the people who truly enjoy driving. The Boxster S, then, is a better-performing car than ever before, but not an entirely better car to my mind."

"Like the S, its ride, refinement, enhanced appearance and dazzling chassis make it easily the finest roadster within the reach of modest money."

"The bottom line is simple: The new 2013 Porsche Boxster is still a Boxster nimble, communicative and sharp. But it now adds measures of comfort and efficiency in a combination few others can match."
A solid 5 stars from Car Magazine

"The Boxster has long been one of the worlds best if not the best all-round sports cars, with sharp handling, affordable running costs, great powertrains and a price tag that undercuts the 911 Cabriolet by more than 50%. The third-generation model only improves things and, while were not totally sold on the electric power steering, it doesnt really diminish the Boxsters all-round appeal. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. "
A solid 5 stars, this time from AutoExpress.

"The Boxster S feels faster and more focused than ever....
So while the Boxster is more comfortable over distances, its lost none of its magic."
Not that I need to post Monkey's review video on the new Boxster S but - its so nicely shot and produced.
"brilliant"
