that looks like a lovely car and really good value... or am I missing something?

http://pistonheads.com/sales/3750542.htm

Ok, it is a cab so not as desirable as a coupe.

But:
  • has a very nice colour.
  • looks well looked after.
  • has factory warranty.
  • is manual.
  • and has a reasonably low mileage.
I have obviously no affiliation with the seller, but if I did not have my car, I'd be all over this.

Warranty for 2 months only, cabs just don't look right for some reason, but nice car if you want one

Is 37k good value? I'm a bit out of touch with current values but with 03 turbos at 25/30 is this a bit strong?

You've really got to want to own a grey 996 Turbo S cab for that money, but nice nonetheless .

I don't agree with the Cab comments, sure i think old 911's look slightly better in the Coupe form but i think the C4S and 6T still look pretty in cab format especially with the hood down, looks lovely IMO.

+1 re 996 c4s and 6t are ok as cabs.

The comment re 997t is wrong, 996 turbo s is a slightly different proposition. Look at the prod numbers as a starting point.

Looks wise, i much prefer 996t s too.

no doubt s more rare than 7t but not sure it has a following, most would go for newer version.

Interesting how no one has noticed this example only does 175mph... Proper Turbo S Cabs are a bit quicker afterall this car was once described as the most powerful hair dryer in the world!

Don't pay any attention to the "Pistonheads Essentials" statistics - it was a poorly developed feature that was added to the classifieds long before it was properly developed/tested.
(I think there are few threads on that subject already - we were getting a spate of 4 litre 996's for sale... wobble )

Back to the car, I've nothing against cabs in general, but I've never liked the roofline/rear of the 996 cabs.

Looking forward to jumping into my Atlas Grey Convertible & steering it home as stealthily as the roads allow on my 35 mile commute.

What a beautiful few days it has been for the ragtops..

Good to read a pragmatic, unbiased viewpoint. Oh, hold on a sec . . . . . .

hehe

The 'problem' with PH is that:

If you own one, your opinion is worthless (becasue you're biased).
If you don't own one, your opinion is worthless (because you don't know what you are talking about).

The other good thing about PH's is that people who enjoy cars & driving can have the crack..

Happy driving this pm if you are lucky enough to be in something you enjoy, whether a transit van or a Veyron.

Enjoy.smile

if we went by that rule, there would not be much chatter on this forum...

The car caught my eye and I thought was pretty. Peeps tend to go on about gt2/3 around here and some 'sideline' models tend to be ignored. I think the 's' is quite special. Appreciate that many will disagree.
